Session 2

Okay, so today we discussed essential questions. We (Libby and I) discovered that essential questions have no correct answer or perhaps multiple answers. We can start asking essential questions in science, but we are going to need simpler, content driven questions too.
We also got to visit and explore the Middle School info tech site. There are lots of black lines to get started, but also info from others (including "experts") to help define tasks and formulate quality questions.
Our day started with Dan W. visiting and sharing his experiences with using Big6 with his 8th graders in social studies from the previous couple of years.

I love the conversational tone you have, Julie. Easy to reconnect with the content when you make notes such as this. I hope the blog becomes a good place for you to grow your Big6 teaching from.

Essential Questions do require lots of wrestling with, for sure. Steve and I spent quite a while just coming up with the EQ for this class! Must get easier over time. It's great that you and Libby are taking the class together and have a project in mind.
